In Loving Memory of David Carl Bonitz, Pine Apple, Alabama

Born June 5, 1958, Seymour, Indiana - Deceased February 17, 2018, Montgomery, Alabama

David passed away peacefully, to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, with his eldest daughter, Jessica, at the hospital, after collapsing at his work site the previous day.

David was the loving middle son of William and Donna Bonitz, baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, Indiana, on June 15, 1958. After completing nine years of Christian education at St. John Lutheran School, Indianapolis, Indiana, David was confirmed into the Lutheran faith at St. John Lutheran Church in 1972. He graduated from Warren Central High School, Indianapolis, Indiana with the class of 1976. After high school, he enrolled at Purdue University, making lifelong friendships at the Rochdale Co-op House, his residence. He made several motorcycle trips West with his Pledge Brothers as recent as 3 years ago. He also enjoyed fishing and snowmobiling in Northern Wisconsin and vacationing with his parents and brothers during his youth. He hosted his brothers, Mark and Tim, Memorial Weekend 2017 at his country home in Pine Apple, Alabama.

David and Nancy Baugh Bonitz were united in marriage at University Lutheran Church, West Lafayette, Indiana, January 2, 1982, while students at Purdue University. They graduated In May 1984. Their daughter, Jessica, was born July 28, 1985 in Indianapolis, Indiana. In Oct. 1985, David's employment moved the family to Section, Alabama. David enjoyed the opportunities he had to serve the Lord in several Lutheran churches as Sunday School Teacher, Elder, Trustee, and Choir Member; he was also fortunate to have fellowship with other believers in the faith. God blessed David and Nancy with the birth of twin daughters, Faith and Hope on August 24, 1997. David enjoyed fishing, hiking and bike riding with his daughters, plus attending the many musicals and plays in which they each participated. David's career choice as construction supervisor moved him to many parts of Alabama within the next 21 years, even moving him for a year's employment working on solar panels in Arizona.

Being an avid sports fan for his alma mater, the Purdue Boilermakers, as well as the Auburn Tigers in Alabama, most weekends found David near his TV supporting his favorite team and texting family members and friends at half-time, getting their approval and support.

David Bonitz and Patsy Rowell were married on December 28, 2005, in Loachapoka, Alabama.

David Bonitz is survived by his children: Jessica (Price) Lawrence, Faith and Hope Bonitz; his parents: William and Donna Bonitz; his brothers: Mark Bonitz and Timothy Bonitz; his nephews: Carl Bonitz, Evan Bonitz, Joel Bonitz, and Matthew Bonitz: his nieces, Heather Zoderer, Lisa (Matthew) Hoffman, and Elizabeth Bonitz; three great nephews and one great niece; one step great nephew; aunts and uncles: Uncle Martin Bonitz, Aunt Lorraine Kerr, and Aunt Kathryn (Bill) Chandler; and sixteen cousins.
