Darren Lee Thomas

Darren Lee Thomas, 54, of Southport, passed away on March 10, 2022 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born on September 11, 1967 to William and Phyllis (Lee) Thomas at Indianapolis, IN. Darren worked in Transportation for Chisholm Lumber and previously Hoosier Equipment.

Darren enjoyed being outdoors fishing and grilling. He liked to watch Indianapolis Colts football. Darren was a fan of NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He enjoyed everything about the Indianapolis 500 from the race to all of the activities. He loved God, his family, and all of his friends. Darren was a fun man to be around and enjoyed life. More than anything, Darren liked to spend time with his family and friends.

Darren is survived by his significant other, Deena Hartley; 3 children, Kylee Hartley, Paul Janke, and Tammy Kane; mother, Phyllis Thomas; father, William Thomas; 2 brothers, Mark A. Thomas and W. Scott Thomas; 9 grandchildren, Jada, Jayden, Draven, Mecyna, Domanick, Daylen, Paul Jr., Daymen, and Riley; 3 nephews, Mark Thomas, Matt Thomas, and David Thomas; 3 nieces, Fallon Thomas, Courtney Thomas, and Crystal Thomas; and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Zada Lee, and William and Helen Thomas; niece, Jessica Eddy; uncle, Sonny Lee; and 2 aunts, Carol Frazier and Judy Lee.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 - 4:00 pm on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 4:00 pm with Pastor Mark Wallace officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
