Danny H. Blythe ("BIG BIRD") born September 29, 1959, peacefully passed away on November 26, 2024. He dedicated 40 years to his career doing construction and concrete. He was currently working for Carroll supply where he was revving up to trade his hard hat for a party hat in February.
Known as a self -proclaimed "Rock n Roll Genius", music was his jam, cranking up the tunes on Q95 like it was his personal anthem. He was the real MVP for the soundtrack of his life, Bird was an ultimate hype man at sporting events and concerts. Danny was an avid Colts, Pacer and IU fan, or anywhere a ball bounced. He also enjoyed watching INDYCAR and NASCAR racing. Bird liked to gamble, and he bet on his sports teams like a pro.
He leaves behind his beloved partner, Joyce of 38 years; daughter April Blythe; Shauna Maynard, Abby Maynard, and Adam (Amanda) Maynard. Danny was a proud grandfather to his grandkids, Jackson, Damon, Molly, Maleigha, Dillon, Jayce, Braylon and bonus grandson Stephen. He also leaves behind many friends that are like family.
He was proceeded in death by his parent; his son, Chris Blythe; Grand daughter Teya Blythe; and his beloved dog Cabo.
In celebration of Danny's life, a funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 4th at 6 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 925 East Hanna Avenue Indianapolis, Indiana 46223 with Pastor Al White officiating. Friends may gather for visitation from 4 pm until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the American cancer society.
Bird, may your tunes keep playing on in the big concert in the sky. You will be missed by all who knew you.
