Dakota Lee Hensley

Indianapolis - Dakota Lee Hensley, 24, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020. Dakota was born March 10, 1995, in Indianapolis, IN to Lee Hensley and Tiffany Shotts. In his spare time, Dakota was an avid pool player and was a member the American Pool Players Association. He enjoyed sports especially basketball, baseball and football. Dakota also loved listening to music, his favorite was Rap music. But most of all, his greatest joy and love of his life was his family.

Dakota was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert E. Hensley, Sr. He leaves behind a living legacy consisting of his parents, Tiffany (Robert) Shotts and Lee (Beth) Hensley all of Indianapolis; brother, Gage Hensley of Indianapolis; paternal grandmother, Lois Hensley of Indianapolis; maternal grandparents, Roger and Susan Plew of Indianapolis; step-sisters, Kiersten and Maia Leigh and Kristyn Shotts all of Indianapolis; step-brothers, Bryce and Shane Leigh and Jeremy Shotts all of Indianapolis; aunt, Holly Plew-Selby; uncles, Ryan Plew, Robert (Michelle) Hensley Jr., Ronald Hensley and James (Sandra) Hensley; and godfather, Jason Stumpf, all of Indianapolis. Dakota also leaves behind his beloved cousins, numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Dakota's family will receive friends Monday, February 10, 2019, from 4 - 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will be conducted Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at 10 am at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at New Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, IN.
