INDIANAPOLIS – Constance Lee "Connie" O'Connor Henschen, 79, passed away at 10:58 AM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Franciscan Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. She was born on September 7, 1943 to the late Leonard Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Sowders O'Connor at the former Coleman Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Connie graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1961. She married Albert Henschen on February 17, 1962 at St. James Catholic Church in Indianapolis, IN. Connie was receiving manager at Kmart for 24 years and also raised her 4 children.
Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, baking and cooking. Connie loved shopping, traveling and cardinal bird watching. She enjoyed spending time her loving family and hosting gatherings. Connie adored and cherished her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings deeply. She will be greatly missed by everyone.
Connie is survived by her loving husband of nearly 61 years, Albert Henschen; her children: Michael Albert Henschen, Laura Ann Carter and her husband Wayne, Dianna Lynn Popp and Pamela Sue "Pam" Poynter and her husband Tim; her siblings: Annie Alexander and her husband Bill, Marylou Crider and her husband Jim, Patty Milharcic and her husband Mike, Susie Tetrick, Debbie Eck, Tom O'Conner and his wife Connie and Bill O'Connor and his wife Kathy; her grandchildren: Becky Rojas, Jessica McCreary, Eric Henschen, Nick Henschen, Tony Carter, Chad Carter, Courtney Cope, Brad Popp, Brian Popp, Alyssa Miller, Bob Poynter and Lisa Walker; and her great grandchildren: Gabriel Rojas, Matt Stacey, Averie Henschen, Ruby Carter, Reese Carter, Raelynn Carter, Jedidiah Carter, Charlotte Cope, Benito Alejo, Julian Alejo, Taylor Poynter, Ryen Poynter, Henry Walker and Oliver Walker.
Connie's family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, February 10, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with Father Douglas Hunter and Pastor Tony Carter officiating. Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46203.
