Cheryl Rae Monk

Cheryl Rae Monk, age 69 of Indianapolis passed on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Arlington Heath Care following an extended illness. She was born April 9, 1954 in Wapakoneta, Ohio the daughter of Alton and Rita (Carroll) Jett. Cheryl was a 1972 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. For more than 30 years, she worked as a child caregiver and loved every minute of it. Cheryl enjoyed building puzzles and crocheting. She was known by many of her family members for her baking skills, especially her pumpkin rolls. More than anything, Cheryl loved to spend time with her family.

Cheryl is survived by 4 children, Cheryl Ann Monk, Stephanie Hinz, Kevin (Cara) Jett and Robert (Leticia) Jett; 2 siblings, Gary (Fran) Tanner and Roger Tanner; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; and several extended family members and friends.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen Monk; and long-time companion, Richard Humphreys.

Cheryl's wishes were to be cremated and have no formal services at this time. Her family will plan to bury her ashes with her parents. Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions in Indianapolis is honored to handle Cheryl's arrangements.
