Charles Robert George

Mooresville – Charles Robert George, age 72, passed away at 8:23 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Bob and Susie (Nicely) George. Charles was born on November 9, 1949 in Martin, Kentucky. He was united in marriage on August 5, 1993 to Joyce Baker in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Charles graduated from Wheelright High School and then attended Moorehead State University. He was inducted into the United States Army on March 13, 1970 in Ashland, Kentucky and was honorably discharged on November 9, 1971 at Fort Lewis in Washington. During this time, Charles served in South Korea. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and trains. Charles was an avid college football fan. He loved attending church.

Charles leaves behind his wife, Joyce George; his children, Bobby George, James E. Roberson and Sharyle Lewis; his grandchildren, Peyton George, Robby Lewis, Brandi Bannon, Landen Roberson and Haley Schneider; his sister-in-law, Norma Bray; and brother-in-law, Dwight Baker.
