Carey Daniel May, Jr.

Indianapolis - Carey Daniel May, Jr., 73, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021. He was born May 5, 1947 in Louisville, KY to the late Carey, Sr. and Margaret Dugan May.

Carey's family described him as a very giving and loving person with a great sense of humor. He was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. While he had many interests, his family was the most important thing to him. He will forever be loved and missed.

Carey was preceded in death by his parents, Carey, Sr. and Margaret Dugan May; daughter, Tara May; and sister, Barbara Maxwell. He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn May; children: James Dimond, Dolores Allen, Tammy Isenhower and her husband, Brian and Tanya Jones and her husband, Dewey; grandchildren: William Allen and his wife, Sherrie, Peggy Williams and her husband, Mikey, Abraham Allen, Angelia Allen, Chase May, Jayna Jones, Shala Metheny-Ledger and her husband, Jordan, Drake May, Brooke Woods, Jordan Williams and Paige Miller; great grandchildren: Keirah Allen, Jesse Clemens, Nevaeh Allen, Audrie Hall, Nova Allen, Mikea Slater, Uriah Metheny, Kyrie Roberts and Keondre Perry; several siblings, nieces and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

Carey's family will receive friends Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 4 – 8 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of his life will be conducted Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 11 am at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203.
