Bruce Allen Carter

Bruce Allen Carter, age 66 of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 30, 1957 in Indianapolis, the son of Joe D. and Carole (Page) Carter. Bruce was a 1975 graduate of Franklin High School. He worked as a machinist for many years and retired from Overton and Sons in Mooresville. Bruce married Kay Blankenship on March 27, 1982 in Indianapolis. He was a very active member with his family at South Central Church of Christ for over 30 years. If there was anything to know about the Civil War, Bruce was the man to ask. He loved to study and research everything about the Civil War. Bruce also enjoyed being outdoors gardening. He had a huge soft spot for animals of all kinds, but more than anything there was nothing he loved more than his family.

Bruce is survived by his wife of over 41 years, Kay Carter; daughter, Tiffany Carter; sister, Crystal (Wayne) Feltner; 3 brothers, Perry (Terry Mink) Carter, Dewayne Carter and Shawn Carter; special cat, "Daphne"; and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joe "David" Carter in May 2020.

Bruce's wishes were to be cremated and have a celebration of life at a later date at his church. To honor Bruce's love for animals, the family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Humane Society of the United States.
