Boyd R. Middleton

Boyd R. Middleton, age 85 of Indianapolis, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Franciscan Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 3, 1937 in Indianapolis the son of Norman and Mildred (Reynolds) Middleton, Sr. Boyd was a 1955 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School. After graduation he enlisted in the National Guard reserves and was a private first class until he was honorably discharged in 1958. Boyd worked as a printer for the Star News for over 20 years before retiring. During retirement, Boyd loved being around people so much he began working at Meijer as a greeter just so he could continue brightening others day. Boyd enjoyed fishing, watching crime dramas on tv and a member and supporter of the Wounded Warriors. He loved all things to do with sports and was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. More than anything, Boyd loved his family unconditionally.

Boyd is survived by his son, Rodger (wife Bobbi) Middleton; 8 siblings, Norman Jr., Jimmy, Johnny, Steve, Rick, Audrey, Janet and Laura Lynn; 4 grandchildren, Karli, Hannah, Alican and Joshua; 2 great grandchildren, Livia and Timothy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Boyd is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Penny Bush; 3 sisters, Vicki, Patti and Deloris; 3 brothers, Gene, Raymond "Butch" and Scott; and 2 grandsons, Scott and Alexander.

A funeral service celebrating Boyd's life will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions 925 E. Hanna Ave. Indianapolis, IN 46227.
