Indianapolis - Billy Ray Couch, 68, went home to be with the Lord Monday, October 8, 2018.
Mr. Couch was born October 1, 1950 in Leatherwood, KY. He married Joann West November 15, 1970. He was employed by Marion County where he served as a mechanic. He was awarded the key to the city of Indianapolis for maintaining the Canal so well.
Mr. Couch was preceded in death by his father, Dillard Couch; mother, Sally Shepherd; daughter, Sally Couch; granddaughter, Sarah Lou Couch; sister, Maxine Combs; and brother, Roscoe Couch. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Joann Couch; sons, Nathan Couch and his wife, Kelly and Carl Couch and his wife, Lena; sisters, Irene Duncan and Delta Thompson; brothers, Jimmy Smith and Ronnie Caudill; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and close friends.
Mr. Couch's family will receive friends Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 3-7 pm at Light House of Mercy Church, 1468 English Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203. A celebration of his life will be conducted Friday, October 12, 2018 at 12 pm at the church with Pastor Tony Burton officiating. A committal service will follow at New Crown Cemetery, 2101 Churchman Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203.
