Barbara Jean Thompson, 68, of Indianapolis, passed away on May 25, 2016. She was born on September 8, 1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Joseph and Mary (Gowens) Ahern. Barb was a member of the VFW Post #1120 Ernie Pyle.
Barb is survived by her four children: William J. (Anita) Purcell Sr., Laura A. McDonald, Phillip R. (Mindy) Purcell, Chris L. (Anita) Purcell all of Indianapolis; 2 brothers; 4 sisters; 18 grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Michael Edward Thompson and a brother.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2016, from 12:00 pm. to 2:00 pm. at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 925 East Hanna Ave. Indianapolis with the Funeral Service follow at 2:00 pm.
