Barbara Jean Miller

Indianapolis – Barbara Jean Miller, 66, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was born April 22, 1957 in Indianapolis to the late Charlie and Gladys Hockersmith Heady. She attended Arsenal Tech High School. Barbara married Robert Miller on August 23, 1975. She was employed in the hospitality industry where she served as an executive housekeeper.

Barbara's hobbies included arts and crafts, coloring and playing games. She loved her husband, kids, grandkids, extended family members, friends and pets. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays and participating in family events and gatherings.

Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Cox; grandson, Lil Robbie; Kathryn Miller; and Richard Miller. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Miller, Sr.; children: Sheila Cox, Robin Richard and her husband, Dustin and Robert "Bub" Miller, Jr. and his wife, Mindy; 17 loved siblings; grandchildren: Mark Cox, Jr., Kyle Cox, Alexis Cox, Robert Miller III and Cameron Miller; Sissie Beck; Willie Beck; and many other loving family members and dear friends.

Barbara's family will receive friends Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 11 am – 3 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Reception, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home chapel. A committal service will be conducted Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10 am at New Crown Cemetery.
