Arline Wagner Nickell

Arline (Wagner) Nickell, age 91, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at her residence in Indianapolis, Indiana with her loving daughter, Cassandra by her side. She was born to the late Jerome M. and Elsie Aretta (Murry) Wagner on September 4, 1930 in Newport, Kentucky.

Arline is survived by her 6 daughters: Maxine Grosch, Marsha Roxanne Herringer, April May Mullen, Yvonne (Joe) Conway, Gwendolyn Kay (Mark) Hommel and Cassandra Jo (fiancé Bob Duke) Nickell; her daughter-in-law, Alberta Merrill; her 13 grandchildren: Darrin (Jenni) Grosch, Gina (Craig) Rittinger, Jerry (Crystal) Merrill, Brittany (Eric) Henry, Morgan (Alex) Brack, Kate Conway, Quinn Conway, Emily Conway, Tyler (Grace) Hammons, Kaemon Hammons, Lindsay Hammons, Matthew (Kristin) Donaldson and Josh (Caiti) Donaldson; her 8 great grandchildren: Josh Rittinger, Noah Rittinger, Haleigh Shipp, Sophia Merrill, Kendall Merrill, Durham Henry, Evelyn Brack and Emmett Donaldson; and extended family: Erin and Michael Donaldson, Shauna, Holly, Christina and Bobbi Duke and their children as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and in-laws.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lonnie Nickell, son Jerry Merrill, sons-in-law Greg Herringer and Eric Mullin, sisters Helen Warwick and Mary Lou Jones, twin Aline Richards and brother Jean Wagner.

Arline requests for everyone to please wear red in her honor. She wanted a celebration of life, love and honor as she moves to the next plane. Arline wanted us all to rejoice in the memories of the long wonderful life she lived here on this beautiful earth. Please be happy for Arline as she has gained her heavenly wings and is now in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. Arline's guests may also visit on Sunday, November 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer.
