Aristotle Pappas

March 28, 1991 — September 10, 2015

Indianapolis - Aristotle Christos Pappas died suddenly on September 10, 2015.

He was born March 28, 1991 in Indianapolis. Known by friends and family as Ari, he was the epitome of kindness, sweetness and sensitivity. When you were a friend of Ari's, you were a friend for life.

While he loved people and never met a stranger, Ari's opponents on the football field wore targets on their backs. He was a warrior and a fierce athlete. He excelled as a running back for the Bishop Chatard High School; and earned two State Title rings in his freshman and sophomore years. As an All City and All State recipient, Ari still holds many unbroken records at BCHS, a school known for great running backs. Playing football at BCHS is a Pappas family, time-honored tradition. Seven Pappas boys have dominated the field over the years including his father, Joe and brothers, Angelo and Nick. A student at Ivy Tech University, Ari was witty, funny and loving. He was a voracious reader, a movie buff and a lover of life. He was quite simply a joy to know and to love.

Ari was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Peggy Sue Pappas and grandfathers, Ralph Beber and William Pappas. He is survived by his father, Joseph (Heather) Pappas of Westfield; brothers, Angelo Pappas, Nick (Casey) Pappas and Kyle Pappas of Indianapolis; step-brothers, Nolan and Cameron Jaffe; grandmothers, Joyce Beber of Cicero and Eleanor Pappas of Indianapolis; special nieces, Bella, Teah, Sofia, Jalynn and Zoey; loving aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews; and many devoted friends.

Ari's family will receive friends Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 4-8 pm in the gymnasium at Bishop Chatard High School at 5885 Crittenden Avenue in Indianapolis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, September 14, 2015, at 10 am at Christ the King Catholic Church at 1827 Kessler Blvd E Drive in Indianapolis. Interment will follow at Elwood City Cemetery.
