Indianapolis – Anna "Mici" Bonta, 87, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 2, 2019.
Mici was born February 4, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN. She served her community doing volunteer work for over 49 years, particularly at George Washington High School and William Penn School 49. She was a long time member of Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene. In 1999, Mici was recognized by Indianapolis Mayor Stephen Goldsmith with "The Mayor's 1999 Volunteer Partnership Award" for her work at William Penn School # 49.
Mici was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Robert Bonta; daughter, Patty Osborn; and sons, Michael Bonta and Robert Bonta Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Swartz (Anton), Catherine Mobley (Ed) and Vicky Loy; sons, James Vaughn, Steven Vaughn (Marty), David Vaughn (Bobbie), and Tom Bonta (Annette); 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, January 4, 2018, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Newcomer, Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. A celebration of her life will be conducted Saturday, January 5, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene, 1326 East Sumner Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227 with Pastor Randy Gentry officiating.
