Anita Leigh Parsons

Indianapolis - Anita Leigh Parsons, 80, loving mother and nana, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021. She was born October 11, 1940 in Indianapolis, IN the only child of the late Harry and Hilda Harris.

Anita married Roy Parsons on October 15, 1983. She was employed as a secretary at ISTA before retiring. She also had a passion for interior decorating. Additionally, Anita loved painting, working jigsaw puzzles, sewing and spending time with her family and friends playing games. She was a pro at Trivial Pursuit and Pictionary.

Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Parsons and her daughter, Lori McMurtrie. She is survived by her sons: Jeff Yelton, Stephen Yelton and his wife, Kim, Tracy Parsons and his wife, Mitzi, Craig Parsons and Kirk Parsons and his wife, Sherry; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great grandchildren.

Anita's family will receive friends Thursday, January, 21, 2021 from 1-3 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 925 East Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana 46227. A memorial service will follow at 3 pm. For the health and safety of all guests attending, face masks are required.
