Alvin Lee Pipkin

INDIANAPOLIS – Alvin Lee Pipkin, 80, passed away at 4:42 AM at his residence on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was the loving son of the late Jesse Howard and E. Maud Pipkin born on November 20, 1941 in Gamaliel, Kentucky. He was united in marriage on July 24, 2012 to Naomi Berry in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Alvin was inducted into the United States Army on October 31, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was honorably discharged on October 29, 1965 in Fort Lewis, Washington. He graduated in 1968 From Crispus Attucks High School. Professionally, Alvin worked for General Motors for many years.
He was a member of UAW Local 23. Alvin enjoyed playing cards and working in his yard. He loved his friends and family deeply.
Alvin is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Naomi Pipkin; his children, Sabaea Pipkin and Edward Matthews; his grandchildren: Xavier Pipkin, Edwards Matthews Jr., Jamaal Matthews, Devon Matthews and Bryce Matthews; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended relatives. In addition to his parents, Alvin was preceded in death by his siblings: Richard Andrews, Martha Ford, Charles Pipkin and Oliver "Pete" Pipkin.
