Alvin Tyrone Gridiron Jr., (age 46) passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at home with his mother by his side.
His wish was for a small grave side service with immediate family members, took place on Saturday, September 23rd at 11:30am at the Concordia Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
Tyrone, (aka "Imani") was born on May 17, 1971 in Harbor City, CA to Alvin Gridiron and Margarett Diane Sulayman. He attended Mt. Calvary Elementary School, Daniel Webster Junior High School, and Nogales High School in California.
An avid reader with a curious thirst for knowledge, Tyrone attended classes at Michigan State University, Cal Poly Pamona, and even secured a certification as a message therapist.
His creativity touched every aspect of his life and was most evident in the beautiful works of art featured in 2010 at the P.B. & J Gallery in Atlanta, GA.
Tyrone was preceded in death by his grandmother Jessie Richardson, grandfather Penison Burton, step-grandfather Frederick Richardson, and Uncle Michael Burton.
Tyrone is survived by his mother, Margrett Diane Sulayman (Yusuf), father Alvin Gridiron, sisters Tina Gridiron and Tiffany Toriumi (Yasunori), his uncle Penison Burton, aunts LeAyne Nash (James), Lisa Williams, Darnell Burton, Shirlye Brox (Michael), nieces Donesha Sangster (Ryan), Vivienne Smith, Nishelle Williams, and nephews Justin Smith, Isaac Burton, Michael Bragg, TrentonBragg, and Tyaire Bragg.
Tyrone will be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his humor, inquisitive mind, and his passionate search for truth.
