INDIANAPOLIS – Jennifer Marie (Young) Mendoza, 38, passed away at 3:58 PM on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 4, 1985 to Randy Thomas and Roxann Melva (Borders) Young in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jennifer graduated from Southport High School in 2003 and then attended Ivy Tech Community College. Professionally, she worked as a supervisor at Allison Transmission for many years. Jennifer was united in marriage on June 20, 2015 to the love of her life, Nephtali “Ney” Mendoza at University Heights Baptist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a devoted member of New Life Church.
Her hobbies included roller blading, playing softball and reading. Jennifer enjoyed attending church, reading her bible, journaling, vacationing with family and working on house projects. She cherished spending time with her husband and children. Jennifer always looked forward to seeing her parents and meeting up with her siblings monthly for coffee. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved all aspects of Christmas; the music, decorating the house and the Grinch. Jennifer loved the Little Mermaid and Care Bears. She also loved her best friend, Missy and her baby dog, Lola.
Jennifer was a devoted wife, mother and Christian. She was an amazing daughter and friend. Not only was Jennifer a kid at heart but she had the biggest heart. Jennifer was strong willed, had a beautiful soul and never took a bad picture. Throughout her life, Jennifer always prayed for others and was passionate about spreading the word of God.
Jennifer is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, Ney Mendoza; children: Jayden Marie Perez age 19, Isaiah Samuel Perez age 14 and Alexander Matthew Mendoza age 10; siblings: Amy Reinhardt and her husband Wes, April Clay and her husband Odise, Joshua Young and his wife Nicole, Salatiel Mendoza and Andres Mendoza; parents, Randy and Roxann Young; in-laws, Celestino Mendoza and Eliuth Perez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who she loved and adored. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nanny Borders, Aunt Becky, Uncle Ray Borders and grandparents, Joyce and Ed Young.
A celebration of Jennifer’s life will take place at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at New Life Church, 7010 East Thompson Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46239 with Pastor Doug Pabody officiating. Friends and family may visit from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church.
